Havanna Coches
We associate specific terms with very specific images. Havana triggers as a term immediately pictures of old houses in the city with crumbling facades. In front of them roll ailing US vintage cars, which are sometimes kept adventurous alive. From this well-known postcard motif I detach the cars. Without environment, without people smoking a cigar, the “Coches” are photographed from three sides and presented on uni-colored, neutral background. The viewer is now deprived of his usual chain of associations. Details of the car come to the fore, space for own stories and associations becomes free.
